The Texas Youth Power Alliance (TYPA), a coalition of the state’s leading youth civic engagement organizations, proudly announces the 2025 Youth Capitol Takeover, a two-day event on April 15–16 in Austin, Texas. This event will bring together hundreds of young Texans at the State Capitol to demand that lawmakers address this generation's defining challenges. We are calling on lawmakers in this 89th Texas Legislative Session to listen and defend the future of Texas.

Building off the success of the historic 2023 Youth Capitol Takeover, TYPA is mobilizing young people statewide to travel to Austin (travel & lodging accommodated), where we will:

• Rally and march to the Capitol to demand action.

• Meet with lawmakers to advocate for policies that protect our communities.

• Participate in workshops and training to build our power beyond this event.

• Celebrate our movement with storytelling, music, and performances that reflect our joy and resistance.

We are young Texans from every corner of the state–Black, brown, LGBTQIA+, working-class, immigrant, and allied youth–who refuse to be ignored. All young Texans ready to take action and shape their future are encouraged to register and join us in making history again.
